The Trove of Wonders

Writer: EmilyEmily

If you have been up to date with articles lately, you would have seen there have been a few remarkable discoveries only a few days ago in Egypt. Now I will admit, I don't focus much on this era of history but do keep on top of the latest discoveries as a personal interest.

Bringing to my attention lately have been the number of tombs that have been found. Just astonishing to think how far along ago this happened, but still to this day it's being uncovered day by day. History never gets old.

What's referred to as the 'garbage dump' was discovered dating back 3,500 years ago was discovered, all dedicated to a fertility goddess. The link here to read further on it:

Or shall we read upon what drew most attention to, that being the 'Egypt breakthrough as 'man-made chamber' found after scan below Great Sphinx'. The title itself speaks a language, it draws the reader in quite well. It's something to break the ice, rightly so as a discovery like this is important to not only historians and people who study specifically in this area but to us all. It could lead to an answer to many questions so it's crucial.

"They (the team and the researcher himself who came across this) are said to have uncovered several areas of interest, but one stod out from the rest"

... reads the article

It's said that the void, which reportedly measures 12 metres by nine metres, and sits around five metres below the Sphinx.

Egyptologist Dr Manu Seyfzadeh, who made the discovery

You can scroll much further into the article and read his apparent thoughts on what he thinks may be found, one of his theories being that there may just not be anything within the chamber, it may just be standing water. The article is just below:

Not ending there, there's yet another discovery because the list just goes on and on I must tell you. An article from Smithsonian Magazine was published a few days ago including that 'Mummies With Gold Tongues Found Inside 2,500-Year-Old Tombs in Egypt' were reportedly found.

It's said that the sealed tomb held more than 4,000 funerary figurines. There were 2 sealed tombs recovered, "containing the mummified remains of a man and woman who died about 2,500 years ago, in the ruins of the ancient Egyptian city of Oxyrhynchus, in what is now El Bahnasa.".

"During the excavation, the team stumbled upon a unique find: three gold-foil tongues. Adding to the surprise, one of the tombs had never been opened.

“This is very important, because it’s rare to find a tomb that is totally sealed,” Esther Pons Mellado, co-director of the archaeological mission from the University of Barcelona, tells Nada El Sawy of The National.".

It's a known fact that in ancient Egypt, embalmers sometimes crafted tongues from gold foil and placed them inside the mouths of the dead to enable them to speak with Osiris, the god of the underworld, says the article.

The following photo represents what was uncovered. The link to this article is below:

That now concludes this blog, but I do encourage you to keep an eye on the coming weeks or months with what may happen with the chamber believed to have been discovered. It will be very interesting to see the outcome.
