Introduction

For those who have not yet stumbled upon my blog yet, my name is Emily. I am a third-year student studying my BA in History at York University in North York, Ontario Canada. My interest on history, more specifically started thanks to my wonderful history teacher in Grade 11 during highschool in Canada. He focused on history more interestingly than one ever has, I felt more of a connection with it as a whole. He made history fun, as people constantly say the opposite of.

What Got Me To Love History

In 2019 I was able to have the opportunity to visit Europe. While I have many times in the past, mainly as I was little.. I visited Germany. The heart of the Nazi Regime. I was able to educate myself on this regime, visiting historical sites like Dachau Concentration Camp.. the first concentration camp of all to open up when Hitler and his Nazi Party made the plan of what he perhaps planned for the future.

What I Plan With This Blog

I created this blog, because I wanted a way to be able to express myself. I love educating others, giving long history lectures to friends and making people aware. It may sound cheesy but it's my favourite point about history above all. When I am able to make connections and have that 'aw' moment, I insist I must educate others on this fascinating new point I have learned. It's what makes history so loveable and interesting to me, it's ever changing and in many ways it's left as an open field of concept.

My Hopes For You, The Reader, To Embrace

I am allowed to be creative, pick my favourite eras, make ties between these eras, etc. The thing about history is that it's all connected. We are all connected. That is what I have planned to write about since I created this website and blog a few years ago. I hope I can open your love to history so you can love it just as much as I do. Because yes, to those who have always called history that one 'boring subject',... it can be fun.

Closing Off
